Dale D. Weldy, age 89 years, of Archbold, passed away on March 13, 2019, at CHP Defiance Area In-Patient Hospice. He was born June 11, 1929, on the family dairy farm in Wakarusa, Ind. Soccer Team, Head Coach Receive Sportsmanship Awards

The Archbold boys soccer team and Sean Stewart, head coach, received sportsmanship awards from the Northwest District Referees Association during halftime of the Archbold boys basketball game with Swanton, Thursday, Feb. 21. A memorial service for Dorothy L. Grieser, 90, of Archbold, will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 23, at the Fairlawn Chapel. She passed away Dec. 10, 2018, at Fairlawn Haven.


Alexa Leppelmeier, PHS ‘17 and a sophomore at Walsh University, North Canton, was named a 2019 National Collegiate Athletic Association Division II Indoor Track All-American. She competed on the WU women’s distance medley relay at the NCAA Div. II National Championships at Pittsburg State (Kan.) University, Friday, March 8. The Countryside Clovers 4-H Club will have its first meeting, Tuesday, March 26, 7 pm, at St. James Lutheran Church, Burlington. Schedules will be handed out. The club usually meets on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month.
