Rupps Celebrate 70th Anniversary

Charles and Jeanette Rupp, Archbold, celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on Aug. 21, 2018. They were married in 1948 at Burns Avenue Baptist Church in Detroit, Mich., by Rev. Rueben Short. Reports Bogus Utility Account

Jamison Wyse, 36, Archbold, reported to police on Friday, July 20, someone had used his social security number to open a fictitious utility account. Wyse told officers he needed a police report to submit to the utility company to clear up the matter. Police provided the report and closed the case.

Ridgeville Fire Department Gets $15,000 Grant

Dan Benecke, Ridgeville fire chief, said last week his department has received a $15,000 grant to protect firefighters from exposure to chemicals.
