Local Man Sentenced



Rogelio Zamora, 35, Archbold, has been sentenced to serve four years of community control in connection with a 2016 burglary charge. AHS Girls Soccer Tames Wildcats



The Archbold girls soccer team started its season on the road at Kalida, Saturday, Aug. 19, in a non-conference matchup, defeating the Wildcats 3-2. Archbold was led by a pair of newcomers. Freshman Regan Ramirez scored two goals while classmate Grace Mayer scored one. Kamryn Hostetler assisted in a pair of goals. Mayer had the other assist.

Woodshop To Reopen



Mari Yoder, director of development for the Fairlawn Haven Retirement Community, said the woodshop at Fairlawn is being cleaned and refurbished after a Tuesday, Aug. 15 fire. Dave Davis, Archbold fire chief, estimated the fire did approximately $15,000 in damage. The damage was limited to the shop sawdust collection system, and the building suffered smoke damage. Steven J. Torok, 23, Napoleon, was identified as the driver of a small pickup that knocked down a utility pole about 5:40 pm, Sunday, Aug. 13.
