AHS Girls Raise Record To 5-0

Archbold raised its record to 5-0 with easy non-league victories over Fairview and Edgerton last week in girls basketball. Vehicle, Deer Collide

Channon M. Rufenacht, 49, rural Archbold, was involved in a vehicle-deer collision on Co. Rd. 22 about four-tenths of a mile south of Co. Rd. F about 8:15 pm, Thursday, Dec. 1. Rufenacht was driving north on Co. Rd. 22. She was not injured.

Streak Wrestlers Compete In Backhaus Duals

The Archbold wrestlers traveled to Tinora, Saturday, Dec. 10, to compete in the Backhaus Duals. Archbold finished 3-2 but defeated eventual champion Tinora 38-34. The Streaks defeated Paulding 40-27 and Bryan 63-12. Otsego and Edgerton defeated Archbold 42-30 and 39-36, respectively. Trevor Short (220 pounds) went unbeaten for the Streaks with a 5-0 record.

Council Amends Ordinances For Marijuana Ban

Archbold Village Council took another step toward banning marijuana businesses in the village at its Monday, Dec. 5 meeting. While the state of Ohio has made marijuana legal for medical purposes, state officials are still working out the rules for growing, processing, and distribution.
