Archbold Man Gets Jail With Work Release



Brandon Rivera, 25, Archbold, has been sentenced in connection with drug charges in Fulton County Common Pleas Court. Rivera was originally indicted by a Fulton County grand jury on Aug. 17, 2015. Receives Award



John Downey, who spent 29 years at the helm of the AHS football team, from 1979-2008, was recently awarded the Team Sports Lifetime Coaches Award by the Northwest Ohio Football Coaches Association. Downey closed his coaching career with a 222-99 record.

North Defiance Street Paving ‘Not The Best’

Forgery Reported



A representative of Archbold SuperValu reported a check the store cashed had been returned. The check was reported to have been forged. Employees cashed the check for $286.39, Tuesday, Feb. 16, at about 1:20 pm. It was reported to police on Wednesday, March 2.

Kierstyn Repp Named First Team All-NWOAL



Kierstyn Repp, an AHS junior, was named First Team All-Northwest Ohio Athletic League for the 2015-16 girls basketball season. Kamryn Hostetler, a sophomore, was named to the second team. Receiving honorable mentions were Cassi Wyse and Alyssa Ziegler. Hannah Blake, Montpelier, was named the Player of the Year. John Langenderfer, Evergreen is the Coach of the Year.

Bobby A. Rodriguez, 20, Archbold, has been sentenced to 10 months in prison on a charge of attempted trespass. School Board Approves Contracts For Coaches



The Archbold Area School Board approved contracts for coaches for the 2016 fall sports season. The action came at the Wednesday, Feb. 24 board meeting.
