Garbage Fee Increases

Archbold Village Council approved a $1 per month increase in the refuse collection fee during its Monday, Jan. 19 meeting. Archbold residents who receive water bills have been charged $8.50 per month for residential refuse collection. Thanks to the wind turbine and an energy conservation project, the power bill for Archbold high and elementary schools for December 2014 was down almost 39%. Tera Rogers, spokesman for the Archbold Police Department, cautioned local residents of a telephone scam that has been reported in the village. A caller represents himself as an official with the Internal Revenue Service and demands information such as social security numbers.
