Council Approves EMS Contract

Archbold Village Council approved the contract for emergency medical service previously okayed by county commissioners during its Monday, Dec. 15 meeting. The contract issue had been contentious because initially, the commissioners called for an Emergency Medical Technician and a paramedic to man county fire stations at all times. Meagan Helmke and Braydon Meck, both of Archbold, were among 29 students completing the registered nursing associate degree program at Northwest State Community College who were recognized during a special ceremony. Graduates are eligible to take the National Council Licensure Exam and enter directly into the workforce, or may transfer their credits into a bachelor’s degree program.
