Witmers Celebrate 60th Anniversary

Warren and Lucille Witmer, Archbold, are celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary. Warren Witmer and Lucille Detwiler were married in Columbiana, Ohio, on May 2, 1952. They have five children, Cheryl (Dale) Wenger, deceased, Columbiana; Dennis Witmer, Germantown, Md.; Joyce (Mark) Nafziger, Archbold; Marlene Wilhelm, Homer City, Pa.; and Gerald (Marlene) Witmer, Poolesville, Md.; 16 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

No Grills At East Gardens

Samantha J. Poling, a resident of East Gardens, told Archbold police her grill was missing on Friday, April 20. Officers informed Poling the facility has a new policy prohibiting grills for safety reasons. Management has been removing grills from the premises. Poling was told to call police if she finds out management didn’t take her grill.

Div. III, IV Softball, Baseball Tourneys Set

Pairings and dates for baseball and softball tournaments have been set. In Division III baseball at Archbold, the Streaks (13-7) received the top seed while Fairview (14-8) is seeded second. Woman Reports Phone Taken

Kylie J. Collins, 19, rural Bryan, told Archbold police her cell phone was taken from her unlocked vehicle. Collins told officers she was at her third shift job at Sauder Woodworking on Monday, April 16. Sometime between 4 and 6:45 am, someone entered her auto and took the phone, valued at $80. The incident was reported Thursday, April 26.

NWOAL Track Meet Starts Tuesday

Archbold will attempt to defend its boys and girls titles in the Northwest Ohio Athletic League track meet next week. Local Woman In Parking Lot Crash

An Archbold police accident report states a woman became ill and disoriented, causing a single-vehicle crash in the Pamida parking lot about 2:23 pm, Tuesday, April 17. Rhonda L. Hines, 49, rural Archbold, was driving a sport-utility when it struck a light pole. Hines then put the SUV into reverse, and backed into a temporary greenhouse on the lot. The […]
