PHS Freshmen Beat Hilltop



The Pettisville freshman boys basketball team raised its record to 6-2, 5-0 in the Buckeye Border Conference with a 57-30 victory over Hilltop, Monday, Jan. 10. Forest Stuckey led the Birds with 14 points. Jeremy Mann scored 12, and Dominic Frey, 10.

Vandalism To Storage Shed



Janet Scott, 304 Brussel St., told Archbold police a window in a storage shed on her property was broken. The damage was believed to have occurred sometime between Friday, Jan. 7, and noon on Sunday, Jan. 9. The investigation is pending.

Norman Merillat



Norman Merillat, age 87, of Waldron, Mich., passed away Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2011, at Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers in Bryan. He was born Aug. 6, 1923, in Fayette, to Samuel and Libbie (Ruger) Merillat. He married Rosetta (Hills) on Sept. 15, 1944, in Prattville, Mich., and she survives.
