Hailey Galvan, AHS ‘10, daughter of Roel and Dana, scored four points in Owens Community College’s 87-womens basketball victory over Mott Community College, Wednesday, Nov. 17. The Lady Express survived an upset bid on the road by beating Lake Michigan College 66-60, Saturday, Nov. 20. OCC (7-0) is ranked 12th in the National Junior College Athletic Association Division II poll.

LCC Advances To State Semi



Lima Central Catholic, which defeated Archbold in the Division V regional semifi nal, advanced to the state semifinal with a 28-19 victory over Jeromesville Hillsdale, Saturday, Nov. 20. The Thunderbirds (12-1) play two-time top-ranked and defending state champion Youngstown Ursuline (13- 0) in a state semifinal, Saturday, Nov. 27, at Ashland.

Morton Named Offensive Player Of Year In District



Garrett Morton, Archbold quarterback, was named the Division V Offensive Football Player of the Year in the Northwest District last week. A panel of 10 sportswriters and broadcasters made the selections. Morton completed 192 of 284 passes for 3,092 yards this season for an average of 257.7 yards per game. Fulton County 2011 Budget Close To Being Balanced



Fulton County’s budget for 2011 is very nearly balanced, said Vond Hall, Fulton County administrator. As of last week, anticipated 2011 general fund expenses were ahead of revenues by $70,891.36, which on a budget of close to $11 million, represented about .65% of the total.
