The Archbold track teams finally opened their seasons, Thursday, April 3. Due to cold and windy weather earlier in the week, meets in Defiance and Napoleon were canceled. Earn Degrees



Amos O’Deal Ruffer, rural Archbold, and Jessie Lyn Kunkle, Fayette, have received degrees from The Ohio State University at the conclusion of the Winter Quarter 2008. Ruffer received a Bachelor of Science degree in education, while Kunkle’s degree was a Bachelor of Science in hospitality management.

Kristin Jean Hayes, Archbold, has been named to the honor roll by The Ohio State University for the winter quarter of 2008. Hayes earned a perfect 4.0 grade point average. Lindsy Brader, a 2005 Archbold High School graduate, received the Mr. and Mrs. J.A. Dinsmore endowed scholarship at Ashland University. The daughter of Jonathan and Lorinda, she is majoring in fashion merchandising.

FFA News



The Pettisville FFA chapter held its 58th annual FFA banquet, Thursday, March 27. Awards were presented, a new sweetheart was crowned, and 2008-09 officers were inducted. Houck Joins Army



Zachariah P. Houck, a Pettisville High School student, has joined the United States Army. Houck, the son of James and Vickie, Co. Rd. 19, entered the service under the Army delayed enlistment program. He will report to Ft. Leonard Wood, Waynesville, Mo., in June.
