Yoder To Attend UT CampMed

Caleb Yoder, who will be a freshman at Pettisville High School this fall, will attend the University of Toledo’s CampMed, June 18-19.

He is the son of Douglas and Jennifer Yoder, Pettisville.

CampMed, held at the university Health Science Campus, is designed to stimulate student interest in science in medicine, by putting students through the paces of a practicing physician.

University of Toledo Medical Center professors, physicians, and medical students will assign teams of CampMed attendees a fictitious patient. The incoming freshmen will then be asked to diagnose the patient’s problem, develop a treatment plan, and present their findings.

They will base their presentation on information learned through lab experiences and critical-thinking exercises.

Only 35 students from northwest Ohio are annually accepted into CampMed. To be accepted, students must have demonstrated achievement in science and be considering medicine as a possible career choice.
