Meggie Yoder, a junior at Archbold High School, qualified for the Division II swimming and diving tournament in two events at the sectional tournament, Friday and Saturday, Feb. 8-9, at Napoleon High School.
Yoder’s times in the 200-yard freestyle and the 500-freestyle qualified her for district.
She finished fourth in the 200 with a time of two minutes, 9.24 seconds. She was second in the 500 in 5:40.36.
The top two individuals in each event at district advance to the state tournament at Branin Natatorium in Canton, Thursday and Friday, Feb. 21-22.
Sixteen at-large qualifiers will also be selected on the basis of their times at all district tournaments statewide.
Archbold finished 12th in the team rankings with 61 points. Pettisville was 15th with 24.
Napoleon won with 494 points.
Mim Beck, an AHS freshman, also swam in the sec- tional tourney at Napoleon, but her times did not qualify her for the district meet.
She finished fourth in the 50 freestyle in 28.41 seconds and fifth in the 100 freestyle in 1:02.38.
Pettisville High School also had a swimmer in the Div. II sectional tournament at Napoleon, but she did not qualify for district.
Brooke Waidelich, a junior, finished seventh in the 100 butterfly in 1:19.13 and seventh in the 100 backstroke in 1:17.98.
