Jarod Yedica, 25, Archbold, who struggled with Archbold police and was subdued through the use of an electric stun gun, has been sentenced to 12 months in prison.

Scott Haselman, Fulton County prosecuting attorney, said in a press release Yedica was sentenced in Fulton County Common Pleas Court on Thursday, Jan. 7.

Incident

About 7:30 pm, Sept. 7, 2015, police were called to the Yedica home at 100 West Barre Road on a report of domestic violence.

Officers found the victim, Jennifer Ann Hancock, 31, of the same address, who had suffered minor injuries. After locating Yedica at his home, he was placed under arrest.

As two officers were escorting him to the police vehicle, Yedica became enraged and began fighting the officers.

Officers used a Taser stun gun, hitting Yedica twice with jolts of electricity.

The officers suffered minor injuries, and the door of the police vehicle was dented.

He was transported to the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio, where he has been held since the incident.

Yedica was indicted by a Fulton County Grand Jury on Sept. 21, 2015, on two counts each of assault and domestic violence, and one count each of possession of a dangerous drug and criminal damaging or endangering.

Guilty

In November, he entered guilty pleas to assault and criminal damaging or endangering.

Yedica was sentenced to 12 months in prison on the assault charge and 60 days for criminal damaging or endangering.

The two sentences will be served concurrently, for a total of 12 months.

In addition, he was ordered to pay $1,108.68 in restitution to APD.

As of Sunday, Jan. 10, he was still being held at CCNO.
