Wrestlers Seventh At Frickers Duals

Archbold hosted the sixth annual Frickers Duals at Defiance College, Friday and Saturday, Dec. 15-16.

Archbold went 5-0 on Friday with victories over Logan Elm 42-28, Firelands 47-26, Mechanicsburg 45-27, Tinora 49-15 and Perrysburg 33-31.

On Saturday, Archbold dropped matches to a pair of Michigan schools, falling to Hartland 52-27 and Hudson 41-35.

The Streaks defeated Toledo St. John’s 49-27 and Defiance 36-28, and then dropped Miami Trace 50-18 in the seventh-place match.

Seniors Gavin Grime (152 pounds) and Trevor Short (220 lbs.) finished the tournament with 10-0 records.

Colton Soles (160 lbs.) was 9-1 and Mason Babcock (195 lbs.) was 8-2.

Wauseon won the team competition, defeating Hartland 44-30. Four Indians finished undefeated individually: Sandro Ramirez, who earned Most Valuable Wrestler honors; Gavin Ritter, Hunter Yackee, and Trent Davis.

Richmond finished third and Swanton was fourth.
