Archbold wrestlers traveled to Montpelier, Thursday, Jan. 25, for a pair of Northwest Ohio Athletic League contests.

Archbold shut out Evergreen 73-0 and defeated Liberty Center 43-19.

AHS 73, Evergreen 0

Archbold scored bonus points in all but two matches to take the easy win.

Gavin Grime (145 lbs.), Colton Soles (152 lbs.), Mason Babcock (182 lbs.), Gibson Burkholder (195 lbs.), and Trevor Short (220 lbs.) all scored pins.

Shane Eicher (113 lbs.), Andrew Francis (120 lbs.), Juan Garcia (126 lbs.), Zach Rocha (132 lbs.), Kasyn Schaffner (170 lbs.) and Anthony Gonzalez (285 lbs.) won by forfeits.

Brennan Short (138 lbs.) was a 12-3 major decision winner and Carson Meyer (160 lbs.) won an 11-8 decision.

AHS 43, LC 19

The Streaks had a harder time against Liberty Center, but still managed an easy win.

Schaffner, Burkholder, T. Short, and Gonzalez all won with pins.

Meyer was a major decision winner, while Francis, Rocha, Grime, Soles and Babcock won by decisions.

Fourth Place At SSMC Duals

The Streaks traveled to Sandusky St. Mary Central Catholic for the Division III Duals, Friday-Saturday, Jan. 26-27, and came home with a fourth-place finish out of 18 teams.

Archbold defeated Norwayne 47-25, West Salem Northwestern 66-12, Western Reserve 70-3, and Van Buren 56-12 on Friday.

The Streaks defeated Mohawk 55-9, Montpelier 77-0, and Sandusky St. Mary 63- 15 before losing to Genoa 61- 16 and Rootstown 48-30 to finish 7-2.

Grime finished with a perfect 9-0 record.

Soles finished with a record of 8-1.
