Woman Sentenced In Car Crash Case

Crystal Nofziger, 37, Wauseon, was sentenced to 18 months in prison as the result of a July 8, 2014, car crash that resulted in serious injury.

Nofziger was the driver of a car that was traveling east on US20 early that morning and ran off the roadway and struck a utility pole.

She and a passenger in the car, Claudine Nofziger, then 61, Wauseon, were injured and hospitalized after the crash.

She was indicted Nov. 17, 2014, by a Fulton County grand jury, charging her with six counts of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated and one count of aggravated vehicular assault, a second-degree felony.

Nofziger entered a guilty plea in August 2015 to a single count of aggravated vehicular assault, a third-degree felony.

In addition to the mandatory prison sentence, Nofziger was ordered to pay any fees, and the cost of her prosecution and court-appointed attorney. Her driver license was suspended for two years.
