Alva and Joyce Roth leave Saturday, Oct. 23, for Pass Christian, Miss., to help build houses that were destroyed by Hurricane Katrina in 2005.
The Roths volunteer with the Mennonite Disaster Service. This is their fifth year. They are project directors.
“There still are thousands of families living in FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency shelters,” Alva said.
There is money for 58 new houses and 97 repair jobs, he said.
