Kirk Weldy, Archbold, was one of five Ashland University undergraduate students who participated and competed in Entrepreneurship Immersion Week 2008, Aug. 10-15, at John Carroll University, University Heights.
The event included 30 students from six northeast Ohio universities.
Entrepreneurship Immersion Week is an intensive six-day educational and networking program topped off by a team business concept competition sponsored by the Entrepreneurship Education Consortium.
The EEC is a collaboration of the directors of entrepreneurial programs at seven northeast Ohio universities: Ashland University, University of Akron, Baldwin-Wallace College, Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland State University, John Carroll University, and Kent State University.
The AU team’s business concept was an electronic locating system for use in large retail stores to improve shopper effi ciency and to increase store sales revenues and customer service.
A 2005 Archbold High School graduate, Weldy is a senior majoring in accounting. He is the son of Kim and Karin, Archbold.
