Competing in a non-livestock project, Ella, daughter of Mike and D’Ann Weaver, rural Archbold, received a first place clock trophy in the self-determined natural resources category, at the Ohio State Fair, Columbus, Aug. 10.
Weaver was awarded for her outstanding competency during the Natural Resource Day.
Participants are recognized as Outstanding of the Day if they placed in the top 20 percent of their class.
The Clark Helicopter Service dropped plastic snowballs over towns in Fulton County on opening day of the 1965 fair. Anyone who found a snowball received free admission. In 1966, they switched to wooden nickels.
