Bill McConnel, assistant Wauseon police chief, said two women were injured in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of North Shoop Avenue and Airport Highway about 12:16 pm, Sunday, Feb. 28.
There were a total of seven occupants in the two vehicles.
Wauseon Rescue called for assistance from Archbold and Delta rescue squads.
Two women were seriously injured.
Kristina Orosco, 30, Wauseon, was taken from the scene to the helicopter hanger and helipad at the Fulton County Airport. From there, she was flown to St. Vs in Toledo. As of Monday morning, she is in fair condition.
Samantha Herter, 21, Delta, was taken to the University of Toledo Medical Center, where she was listed in good condition Monday afternoon.
At least one occupant refused treatment. Others, including three children, were taken to Fulton County Health Center.
McConnel said the accident is under investigation. Wauseon police were looking at a surveillance video in an attempt to determine exactly what happened.
It appears, he said, that one of the vehicles ran a red traffic signal, resulting in the collision.
