Warren Beck

Warren Beck, 76, of Stryker, passed away Sunday afternoon, Sept. 16 at the Toledo Hospital.

Mr. Beck was involved in the restaurant business in and around Stryker for 33 years, including owning the former Beck’s Restaurant in Stryker for many years. He also worked for the US Postal Service.

Mr. Beck was born Harry W. Beck on June 16, 1931 in West Unity, to the late Frank and the late Willabelle (Fetters) Beck. He attended Bryan High School, where he graduated in 1949.

On Oct. 11, 1969 he married Betty Hildebrandt Flory, and she survives. Mr. Beck was a U.S. Navy veteran, a member of the Stryker Rotary Club and the Stryker American Legion Post. Mr. Beck was also a member of the First Lutheran Church in Stryker.

Surviving besides his wife, Betty, is a son, Neil Flory of Stryker; a daughter, Wendy Koch of Stryker; four grandchildren, Alicia, Codi, Casey and Chase; two great-grandchildren, Blake and Isaiah; and a sister, Annabelle (Dale) Watts of Bryan.

Preceding him in death were three brothers: Carl, Stanley and William.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am, Thursday, Sept. 20, 2007, at the First Lutheran Church in Stryker with Pastor Dane Meuschke officiating. Interment will follow in the Pettisville Cemetery.

Friends may call at the First Lutheran Church from 2-8 pm on Wednesday. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to either the First Lutheran Church or the charity of the donor’s choice.
