Trisha King, Archbold High School, and Marie Engle, Pettisville High School, both seniors, have been named the 2011 Franklin B. Walter scholarship winners for their school districts.

The Walter scholarship honors Franklin B. Walter, state superintendent of schools from 1977 until 1991. The Ohio Educational Service Center Association created the award in 1990.

Each winner named a teacher who made an impact on her education.

King honored Andrea Badenhop, AHS social studies teacher. Engle selected Duane Beck, PHS music teacher.

Darrell Randall was named the Walter scholar at Fayette High School. He honored teacher Barb Bruggeman.

Heather Horne, Stryker High School, was named a Walter scholar, and honored teacher Judy Wyse.
