Voter Registration Deadline October 9

Eligible voters in Fulton County have until Tuesday, Oct. 9 to register for the Tuesday, Nov. 6, General Election.

Voter registration requirements include: US citizenship, 18 years of age by election day, resident of Ohio 30 days prior to election day, not in prison, not declared incompetent to vote by a probate court, and are registered at least 30 consecutive days before election day.

Locally, eligible voters can register at Archbold High School, Archbold Public Library, Four County Vocation School or the office of the Archbold Village Clerk. Registration is available at the Fulton County Board of Elections, 525 N. Shoop Ave., Wauseon. Active members of the US military serving on active duty, their spouses and dependents who are not in Ohio are also exempt from registration.

Registered voters who have a new address or have changed their name by marriage must report the changes to the board of elections. Contact the board of elections for the proper forms.

Registered voters who have not voted in two years are considered inactive. After six years of not voting, voters are removed from registration.

Brett Kolb, county board of election director, said absentee ballots are mailed starting Oct. 2.
