Voter Registration Deadline Oct. 9





Qualified voters must register by Tuesday, Oct. 9, to vote in the Tuesday, Nov. 6 general election.

Registration can be completed at the Fulton County Board of Elections, 525 North Shoop Ave., Wauseon.

Registration forms are also available at any public library, township clerk office in the county, license bureau office, high schools or vocational schools, county treasurer office, WIC office, MRDD office, and county department of human services office.

A person must be 18 years of age on or before the general election, Nov. 6. Women who have changed their name by marriage, and people who have moved to another precinct since registering, must report the change to the board.

The residency requirement is 30 days in the state and you must be registered 30 days before the election. You must be 18 years of age on or before Election Day, must be an American citizen, and may not be in jail for a felony or declared incompetent for voting by a probate court.

If a registered voter has not voted for two years he is considered inactive. After six years of nonvoting, a voter is removed from the registration rolls.
