Virginia N. Zedaker




Virginia N. Zedaker, age 94, of Stryker, passed into eternal life on Monday, Dec. 3, 2012, at Fairlawn Haven Nursing Home in Archbold.

Prior to her retirement she had worked at the former 50 Corporation in Bryan.

Virginia was born in Fulton County, Ohio, on Dec. 7, 1917, to the late Edward N. and the late Florence (Kuhn) Nickerson.

On April 24, 1954, she married Robert Zedaker in the Chapel in The Garden, Angola, Ind., and he preceded her in death on June 7, 2012.

She was a member of the Stryker United Methodist Church.

Virginia made sure that you always felt welcome in their home and that you never went away hungry!

Surviving are her granddaughter, Brooke Lauber- Cobb, and her husband Jeff Cobb, of Perrysburg; grandson, Adam Lauber, of Oakland, Calif., and Adam’s daughter, Piper Lauber; special grandsons, Mick (Audri) Lauber of Tindall Air Force Base in Panama City, Fla., and Andrew (Samantha) Lauber of Archbold, and their children, Oliver and Sawyer.

Also surviving are three nephews, Larry (Judie) Ferguson, Steve (Sandy) Hale, and Jim Hale.

She was preceded in death by her son, Larry Zedaker; daughter, Carla Burkhart; two sisters, Irene Ferguson and Velma Hale; and one brother, Wayne Nickerson.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012, at the Grisier Funeral Home in Stryker, with Minister Jeffrey B. Cobb, officiating. Interment followed in the Evansport Cemetery.

The family requests that memorial contributions be given to Northwest Ohio Alzheimer’s Association, 2500 N. Reynolds Road, Toledo, OH 43615.
