Virginia Montague

July 21, 1931-Aug. 30, 2010

Virginia Montague, 79, of Fayette, passed away early Monday morning, Aug. 30, 2010, at Fulton Manor in Wauseon.

She was born on July 21, 1931, in Hudson, Mich., to the late Merrill J. and Mabel L. (Fish) Bailey. She married Donald Montague in Morenci, Mich., on March 12, 1947, and he survives.

Virginia was previously employed at a restaurant plaza on the Ohio Turnpike near West Unity and most recently worked as a dietary aide for Fairlawn Nursing Home in Archbold.

She attended the former Fayette Bible Church and the Fayette Church of the Nazarene.

Surviving besides her husband, Donald, are five daughters, Donna (Dave) Carpenter of Freeport, Jerry (Charles) McMillen of Adrian, Mich., Debra (Glenn) Rowe of Brewster, N.Y., Kathie (Mark) Zeigler of Dallas, Texas, and Jennifer (Brent) Lavinder of Brunswick; five sons, C. Joe (Brenda) Montague of Fayette, Donald “David” (Yvonne) Montague of Pioneer, William “Steve” Montague of Dallas, Texas, Daniel (Amanda) Montague of West Unity, and Ben (Heather) Montague of Stryker; 28 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Donald Carson Montague and Ronnie Joel Montague; a daughter, Bonnie Good; and two siblings, Bill Bailey and Irene Calley.

A funeral service for Virginia Montague was held Thursday, Sept. 2, 2010, at 11 a.m. at the Fayette Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Dr. Samuel Wickard officiating. Interment followed in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Morenci, Mich. The Eagle Funeral Home-Barrett Chapel in Fayette was entrusted with the arrangments.
