Virgie M. Stuckey, age 99 years, of West Unity, passed away Wednesday morning, April 18, 2012, at Fairlawn Haven Nursing Home in Archbold.
She was born Nov. 30, 1912, in the Archbold/West Unity area, the daughter of Gideon and Eliza (Beck) Amstutz.
She married Walter E. Stuckey on Sept. 25, 1934, and he preceded her in death on March 10, 2005.
A resident of the West Unity area many years, she moved to the Fairlawn Complex in Archbold in 2004.
A homemaker, she worked at Sauder Village for several years. She was a member of Lockport Mennonite Church, rural Stryker.
She is survived by two children, William (Rose) Stuckey of West Unity, and Patricia (Jack) Eberly of Stryker; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by her husband; one grandson, Walter J. Eberly; one brother, Dale Amstutz; and three sisters, Edith Letterman, Alta Short, and Catherine Frey.
Memorial services were held on Sunday at 3 p.m. at Lockport Mennonite Church with Pastors Steven Heatwole, Allen Rutter, and Charles Gautsche officiating. Interment preceded in the Lockport Cemetery.
Short Funeral Home in Archbold was entrusted with the arrangements.
