Viola “Vicky” Huffman, age 86, of rural Stryker, passed away Tuesday evening, Jan. 31, 2012, at Community Hospitals of Williams County in Bryan.
Prior to her retirement, Vicky had helped her husband, Jack, on their farm and was his secretary for Huffman’s Auto Repair, near Stryker.
Vicky was born in Oxford, N.Y., on Oct. 12, 1925. On May 5, 1946, she married Lewis “Jack” Huffman, and he preceded her in death in 2009.
She was a member of the Evansport United Methodist Church. She loved her family and especially her grandchildren.
Surviving is her daughter, Betty (Lee) Sauder of Archbold; her son, Dale (Sandy) Huffman of Bryan; grandchildren, Ryan A. (Amy) Huffman, Amber Austin, Amy (Terrance) Crowe, Aron (Annette) Sauder, Andrew (Amy) Sauder; step-grandchildren, Shelly (Brad) Serres, David (Karen) Michael, Robbin Culbertson; 11 great-grandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren; sister, Emily Testa of New York; and sister-in-law, Ruth (Jay) Beck of Archbold.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack; grandson, Eric Lee Huffman, and sister, Jesse Davenport.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 4, 2012, at the Evansport United Methodist Church, with Pastor Becky Ploughe, offi- ciating. Interment followed in the Evansport Cemetery.
The Grisier Funeral Home in Stryker was entrusted with the arrangements.
