Archbold Village Council approved seeking bids for the reconstruction of a portion of East Holland Street and a section of the alley east of the 100 and 200 blocks of North Defiance Street.
The action was approved at its Monday, Sept. 17 meeting.
The project calls for East Holland Street to be rebuilt from the end of the simulated brick pavement to Vine Street.
The pavement in that portion of the street is in poor condition.
The alley will be rebuilt from Depot Street south to the village parking lot near the Norfolk Southern tracks.
Estimated price of the project is $275,000.
Bob Seaman, village engineer, said the project will be started this fall, but the completion date will be in early 2013.
Seaman said hopes are the contractor can work on the project over the winter months.
