Victor William “Bill” “Sonny” Miller, age 91 years, of Archbold, passed away Wednesday afternoon, Aug. 11, 2010, in Morristown, Ind.
He was born April 11, 1919, near Archbold, the son of William H. and Elizabeth (Winzeler) Miller. On March 11, 1942 he married Lorine S. Miller, and she preceded him in death on Aug. 30, 2006.
He was a farmer and worked for several years at Miller Bros., Allied Mills and Lugbill Supply, where he retired.
He was a member of St. John’s Christian Church in Archbold, where he served in the choir and on numerous boards.
He is survived by two sons, David L. of Flagstaff, Ariz., and Jon A. (Vernie) of New Palestine, Ind.; five grandchildren, Eric Miller, Brian Miller, Tiffany (Robert) Almond, Amanda (Steve) Schafer, and Christopher J. Miller; two greatgranddaughters; and one step-great-grandson.
Also preceding him in death were seven sisters, Frances E. Root, Sarah “Sadie” C. Miller, Ruth M. Leininger, Mary E. Borton, Selma C. Boyers, Alice W. Trudel, and Rozella M. Klopfenstein; and one brother, Edmund J. Miller.
Services were held on Monday at 2 p.m. at St. John’s Christian Church with Pastors Erich Christman and Adam Just officiating. Interment followed in the Archbold Cemetery.
Short Funeral Home in Archbold was entrusted with the arrangements.
Memorials are suggested to St. John’s Christian Church or Fairlawn Haven.
