David Dick, Wauseon, was added to the Archbold Police Department on a part-time basis by Archbold Village Council at its Monday, Aug. 19 meeting.
Martin Schmidt, APD chief, said Dick has been in law enforcement for 30 years, including time with the Williams and Fulton county sheriff departments and the Swanton and Wauseon police departments.
He is currently a part-time officer with Wauseon PD.
“We will share him with Wauseon,” Schmidt said.
Following the meeting, Jim Wyse, mayor, swore Dick into office.
In the finance report, Kathy Rupp, village finance director, said the village received a $29,759.93 refund from the state Bureau of Workers Compensation.
BWC is sending rebates to bring its assets in line with guidelines established by the bureau’s independent board of directors. The rebate plan was announced in May.
Council also reviewed the police report for July, the Ohio Gas energy service bill, and the Fulton County Board of Developmental Disabilities summer 2013 newsletter.
