Velma M. Roth, age 88 years, of Archbold, passed away Saturday morning, June 26, 2010, at the Fulton County Health Center in Wauseon.
She was born May 31, 1922, near Archbold, the daughter of Adam H. and Edith (Roth) Short. She married Amos Roth on May 18, 1947, and he preceded her in death on May 9, 1990.
An Archbold-area resident most of her lifetime, she worked at LaChoy and later at the Doughbox Bakery many years.
She enjoyed quilting and was a volunteer at Care and Share.
She was a member of the Central Mennonite Church near Archbold.
She is survived by one brother, Marlin (Valda) Short of Archbold; a sister-in-law, Daisy Short of Springport, Ind.; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Elaine Roth; two brothers, Richard Short and Russell Short.
Memorial services will be held on Thursday at 4 p.m. at the Central Mennonite Church with Pastors Jeffrey Smith and Wanda Stopher officiating. Interment will precede at 3 p.m. in the Pettisville Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Fairlawn Chapel from 2-8 p.m. on Wednesday.
Short Funeral Home in Archbold has been entrusted with the arrangements.
