Vandals Strike Auto, Newly-Seeded Lawn

Vandals apparently attacked the lawn of Dean Nafziger, 42 Willow Way, during the week of July 5- 12.

Nafziger told police offi- cers on Monday, July 12, as he was mowing his lawn he observed two large patches of brown, dead grass.

The lawn had been seeded earlier in the year and the soil kept moist, so the dead grass was not caused by a lack of moisture.

He told officers the only way this could have happened is someone put some type of chemical on the lawn to kill the grass.

Ashley Beltz, rural Archbold, told officers she parked a car owned by her father, Dwight, same address, in front of the 400 building in East Gardens about 9 pm, Monday, July 12.

When she returned to the auto around 10:20 am the following day, she discovered someone had thrown eggs at the windshield.
