When Archbold police looked into a report of an unattended child, they happened to run into a man who was wanted on a warrant from Western District Court.
Police turned the one-yearold boy over to relatives, and arrested the man.
In his report, an officer wrote that a complaint of a child found wandering in the East Gardens complex was received at 11:07 am, Saturday, May 13.
When police arrived, they found a 29-year-old woman who originally called in the report holding the child. She gave officers what she thought was the apartment number where the child lives.
The officer went to the apartment and found Angelo M. Cranston, 30, rural Wauseon, who was wanted on a warrant for failure to appear.
Cranston was placed under arrest and transported to the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio. He was later released on $342 bond.
The report states the boy’s grandmother arrived on the scene and took custody of him.
