U.S. 6 West Of Ridgeville Corners Closes Monday

To Be Closed Through Mid-September

US 6 will get a complete re-do starting Monday, July 12, said Kelsie Hoagland, spokesman for the Ohio Department of Transportation.

The highway will be closed from St. Rt. 34, on the west side of Ridgeville Corners, to the Williams County line at Henry Co. Rd. 25.

The closure of US 6 will affect several roads that intersect with the highway, including Henry Co. Rds. 22, 23, 24, 25, and St. Rt. 66. Those intersections will be closed during construction.

Those who live along US 6 will have access to their homes maintained. Hoagland said construction crews will work with residents to make them aware of when driveway access will be closed.

The ODOT-recommended detour around the construction for westbound traffic will have drivers proceeding west on St. Rt. 34 to St. Rt. 191, then back to US. 6.

For eastbound traffic, motorists turn south on St. Rt. 66, then connect with US 24 at Defiance and continue east.

Hoagland said construction crews will remove pavement and roadbed “all the way down to the dirt underneath” before new pavement is laid.

Miller Bros. Const., Inc., Archbold, is the contractor.

The $5,799,821.69 project will keep the road closed until mid-September, Hoagland said.
