Two women who were hospitalized following a Sunday, Feb. 28 car crash in Wauseon have been released from Toledo hospitals.
Kristina Maria Orosco, 30, Wauseon, was taken to the Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center by helicopter ambulance following the crash. She was discharged on Monday, Feb. 29.
Samantha Rose Herter, 21, Delta, was taken to the University of Toledo Medical Center by ground ambulance. She has since been discharged.
The Wauseon police report states at 12:16 pm on the day of the crash, a car, driven by Herter, with passenger Allen James Garbers, 20, rural Delta, was traveling east on East Airport Highway, and allegedly drove through a red traffic signal.
She collided with an SUV traveling south on Co. Rd. 14 driven by Ranall L. Orner, 27, Delta.
Orosco was a passenger in Orner’s vehicle. During the crash, she was ejected from the auto. The WPD report states she was not wearing a seat belt.
There also were three children in the SUV: Ayden Orner, 8; Alliana Orner, 5, and Lillyan Orner, 3. All have the same address as Orosco.
The children were taken to the Fulton County Health Center. FCHC officials declined to release information about the children.
Garbers and Orner were not injured.
Wauseon Rescue was assisted by rescue workers from Archbold and Delta.
WPD issued a citation for disobeying a traffic signal to Herter.
