An Ohio State Highway Patrol spokesman said the single-vehicle crash occurred at the 37 mile marker. The location is three miles east of the Wauseon interchange, and two miles east of Delta.

Responding to the scene were Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers, Wauseon Fire Department, Delta Rescue, the Fulton County Coroner Office, and turnpike maintenance.

As of about 4:10 pm, the westbound lanes of the turnpike were closed; all traffic must exit at the Delta interchange.
