There were two vehicle mishaps in the village on Friday, Dec. 8, Archbold police reports state.
The first occurred at 10:41 am, when a semi, driven by Melvin L. Nofziger, 84, rural Wauseon, owned by Nofziger Trucking, rural Wauseon, was traveling north on South Defiance Street, and was attempting to make a left turn to go west on Short-Buehrer Rd.
A pickup, driven by Keith R. Bruner, rural Wauseon, owned by Bil-Jax, Archbold, was traveling south on South Defiance Street, and was stopped in traffic. Bruner was stopped in front of the north-south turn lanes at Short-Buehrer Rd.
The report states as the semi made the turn, it struck the pickup. The semi then left the scene.
The driver of the semi was later identified. He stated he was not aware of the damage.
The second crash occurred about 2:44 pm, when a sport-utility vehicle, driven by Denise Sue Miller, 57, Archbold, was stopped for the traffic signal at Lugbill Road.
Stopped behind Miller was a mini-pickup, driven by Douglas C. Desgrange, rural Liberty Center.
A car, driven by Howard P. Puehler, 53, rural Defiance, was traveling south on South Defiance Street. Puehler collided with Desgrange, which then collided with Miller.
Puehler was cited for failure to maintain an assured clear distance ahead.
There were no injures in either crash.
