A semi trailer that was too tall pulled down electrical lines from three buildings about 11:42 am, Wednesday, March 23.
The semi tractor, described as a “shuttle cab,” and the trailer are both owned by Sauder Woodworking. David S. Myles, 54, rural Napoleon, was the driver.
The Archbold police report states the semi was traveling east on East Lugbill Road when the trailer failed to clear overhead power lines.
Two utility poles snapped, electrical service was pulled from the building, and a pickup truck parked on private property owned by Matthew D. Stoner, Stryker, received minor damage.
The damaged buildings were at 232 East Lugbill Road, owned by Dale Stoner, no address listed, and two buildings at 230 East Lugbill Road, owned by Hornish Properties, LLC, no address listed.
The police report said the trailer measured 14 feet, 5 inches from the ground to the top. The maximum allowed by Ohio law is 13 feet, 6 inches.
There were no injuries, and no citation was issued.
