Train Hits Pickup Stuck On Co. Rd. 24




Chelsy Dohm, 20, rural Stryker, was cited for driving on a closed road and improper crossing of railroad tracks after her pickup was struck by a train about 2:45 am, Wednesday, Aug. 15.

The pickup Dohm was driving became stuck on the Norfolk Southern railroad tracks. She exited the vehicle before an eastbound train struck the pickup. She was not injured.

The Fulton County Sheriff Department report states Dohm was traveling south on Co. Rd. 24 and drove around barricades at the closed crossing.

The train was traveling slowly through the crossing, resulting in relatively light damage to the pickup.

While early reports indicated there was more than one occupant in the pickup, the FCSD report makes no mention of any passengers.
