The public will have its first chance to see the Top Of Ohio Center for the Arts this Christmas season, when the gallery opens to the public.
Lisa Bumb, executive director, said the gallery will be located in the showroom of the former Yark Automotive building.
It opens to the public Wednesday, Nov. 24, from noon to 6 pm.
The arts center will be closed Thanksgiving, Sundays and Mondays. The gallery will remain open until Dec. 30.
Among the art objects offered for sale will be paintings, pottery, and fiber art work.
A gala opening is planned for later in the spring, Bumb said.
Currently, Bumb said she is waiting on paperwork from the State of Ohio that would officially sanction TOO as a non-profit organization.
“They’re checking to make sure I’m not a terrorist,” Bumb said.
One of the goals for TOO is to offer art classes to people at any skill level. She said several professional artists and art educators have expressed an interest in teaching at TOO.
