Scott Schultz, superintendent of the Archbold Water Treatment plant, said Saturday morning, Aug. 2, that Archbold water is safe to drink.
Press reports say the city of Toledo issued an advisory at about 2 am, Saturday morning, telling that city’s water system customer not to drink the water. Boiling water will not solve the problem.
The problem stems from an algae bloom in Lake Erie. Toledo draws its raw water from the lake.
Archbold draws its raw water from the Tiffin River, and supplies Pettisville, Burlington-Elmira, Ridgeville Corners, Northwest State Community College, the Four County Career Center, the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio, and Edon.-posted 10:40 am Saturday, Aug. 2, 2014
