Toledo Firm Buys Quality Graphics

Metzgers Printing + Mailing, Toledo, has purchased selected assets of Quality Graphics, Archbold.

The sale was completed last month. Quality Graphics has ceased operations.

Terms of the sale were not disclosed.

“The economy has changed our business so quickly, that we looked for a partner to assist our employees and to service our friends and customers,” said Glenn Miller, former president of Quality Graphics.

“We approached Metzgers about our situation and we know our customers will receive the very best quality and service, at the same price we’ve provided for years,” he said.

Joe Metzger, president of Metzgers, said he met Glenn Miller and his brother, Steve, “in the late part of the 1980s, during a time when technology was changing so fast due to the invention of the Macintosh (Apple computer) for pre-press.

“Metzgers has been and remains a leader nationally when it comes to changes in technology. Glenn and Steve were also leaders in their field, and we shared a mutual respect for one another over the years.

“We would print for each other, bounce ideas off one another, and we always got along well.

“When they decided to close their business, they called me and we began to put the concept together.”

People, Equipment

Metzgers has hired Tami Roushia, former Quality Graphics sales representative, and Aaron Miller, Glenn’s son, former Quality Graphics customer service representative. Roushia will work out of a new Metzgers office in Bryan.

Glenn Miller will act as a consultant to Metzgers. Steve Miller will pursue other interests.

Metzgers has purchased some of Quality Graphics’ equipment. Other items, plus the Quality Graphics building, will be sold.

All Quality Graphics files and databases have been transferred to Metzgers.

Other Quality Graphics employees have lost their jobs, but Metzger said, “I have met with all of the remaining employees and hopefully, we will be able to hire them in the future, as we continue to grow.”

Started in 1976 as a type house, Metzgers grew into an integrated marketing services firm, running 24 hours a day. The company has 75 full-time and 25 parttime employees working in a 75,000 square-foot facility in Toledo.
