Thefts Reported To Police

Theft reports, including the theft of special paint valued at $1,000, were made to Archbold police.

Officials of Bil-Jax reported the special paint, used in the powder-coating process, went missing sometime between Friday, June 1, and Friday, July 6.

It was later recovered in West Unity. The container was taken to the police station and placed in evidence storage.

The case is still under investigation.

Kevin Knierim, 51, Archbold, reported at 10:15 pm, Monday, July 16, someone had cut and stolen ground wires from the building.

In checking the area, police also found other ground wires missing.

The wire, made of copper, is valued at $25.

It is believed the theft occurred sometime after 7 am, Thursday, July 12.


Alex Recker, 22, rural Cloverdale, reported an automatic darkening shield valued at $330 was stolen from a welding helmet in a locked locker at Bil-Jax sometime between 4 pm, Friday, July 13, and 12:30 pm, Tuesday, July 17.

The locker lock was missing.
