A report of a theft that occurred Monday, Dec. 4, turned out to be simply a case of misinformation.
Kim Kern, 44, 304 Quail Run, told police on Monday, Dec. 18, that she had ordered some items from a discount store that were mailed to her. She decided to return the items, and per instructions from store officials, set them on her front porch.
It was believed the package had been stolen.
But later, Kern was told store officials had picked up the package, but gave her incorrect information.
No theft occurred. Police closed the case.
