Theft Foiled; Plate Stolen

An apparent attempted theft from an auto was thwarted about 12:58 am, Saturday, March 31.

Brandon Grime, 18, 404 Brussel St., told police as he was returning to his residence at about 12:30 am, he observed a subject walking down the sidewalk, looking into parked cars.

When Grime got home, he locked his car, and set the alarm system.

About a half-hour later, Grime was standing outside his residence when he heard what he thought was a gunshot, followed by his car alarm going off.

He ran to the front of his house and found the rear window of the car had been broken, and thought he saw a person go around the front of the house next door.

Officers checked the area, but did not locate anyone.

In an unrelated incident, Sophia M. Delacruz, 66, 405 High Street, Apt. 1, told offi cers on Thursday, April 12, the license plate was stolen from the front of her vehicle. She noticed the plate, valued at $50, missing the day before.
