Theft, Attempted Theft Reported To Local Police

A rip stick, a cross between a skateboard and an in-line roller skate, was reported stolen from Ruihley Park, Tuesday, March 16.

Matt Welch, Archbold, reported the rip stick, owned by his son, Austin, was stolen from the park basketball courts sometime between 4 pm and 5:23 pm.

The rip stick is valued at $85.

A representative of Friendship Food Mart, and a second witness reported that about 8:15 pm, Friday, March 19, a male subject entered the building, took a power drink, and put it on the checkout counter. The male then asked the clerk about playing cards, and the clerk left the station.

The witness said a woman came in, took the power drink, and put it in her pocket. Before leaving the store, the woman left the drink on the chewing gum counter.

Witnesses at the scene suspected the woman was trying to leave the store without paying for the power drink, but realized she was being observed.
