Switzer Receives University Award




Andrew Switzer, PHS ‘09, earned the St. Catherine of Alexandria Award from Siena Heights University, Adrian, Mich., at the annual spring honors convocation ceremony, Friday, April 29.

The award is a medal given each year by Kappa Gamma Pi, the National Catholic College Honor Society, to a sophomore or junior for achievement among college students.

Switzer will be a junior in the fall, and has received the Halo and Emerging Leader awards.

Switzer has served as secretary of the Student Programming and Residence Hall Coalition, and the public chairman of the Teacher Education Association of Community Help organization.

He was a resident assistant last year and will serve as policy chair on Student Senate in the fall.

The son of Stephen and Laura, Switzer said he plans to teach at the high school or collegiate level and may get involved in government at some point.
