Michelle Y. Blosser, 44, Wauseon, a teacher at Swanton High School, has been indicted by the Fulton County Grand Jury on a single count of sexual battery.
Scott A. Haselman, Fulton County prosecuting attorney, stated in a press release that on or about Feb. 10, Blosser “allegedly engaged in sexual conduct with a person enrolled in the school where she is employed as a teacher.”
Russ Griggs, interim superintendent of the Swanton School District, said last week Blosser is still on paid administrative leave from her teaching job.
Blosser had an initial appearance in Fulton County Common Pleas Court, Thursday, March 22. She is currently free on an own recognizance bond.
Rumors of the alleged inappropriate conduct surfaced early this month. Griggs said following standard procedure, Blosser was placed on leave pending an investigation.
Her leave started at the end of business, Thursday, March 1.
Griggs said in an earlier Archbold Buckeye article that Blosser was a well-liked teacher who had once received the Teacher of the Week honor. He was unaware of any disciplinary problems involving Blosser prior to the current allegations.
The Fulton County Grand Jury met Monday, March 19, and returned indictments against Blosser and 12 others.
